Kate Middleton Shares 4 Adorable New Photos of Princess Charlotte to Celebrate Her First Birthday

Charlotte turns one on Monday.

With all the attention Prince George has received lately—featured on a royal stamp with the Queen! Meeting the Obamas, and selling out a bathrobe in the process! Getting name-checked by the President in his White House Correspondents’ Dinner speech!—it is high time for another moment in the spotlight for George’s younger sister, Charlotte. Kate and William’s daughter is turning one on Monday, and, in advance, the Palace released four new photos of the princess on Sunday, all shot by, yes, the Duchess of Cambridge herself. (“How was your weekend, Kate?” “Oh, you know, nothing too out of the ordinary . . . my 10-page British Vogue spread debuted Saturday, and then four professional-level photos I took of my princess daughter were released on Sunday . . . just the usual.”)

The photographs—taken at their country home, Anmer Hall, and shot after Kate and William returned from their recent trip to India and Bhutan—are, of course, straight-up delightful.

In the first, Charlotte is giving us George vibes, no? We also want to believe she is looking up at William, who is making some weird “funny” face with, like, a stuffed-animal owl, or something.

We will be attempting (and failing) to pull off this amazing pose on our couch, while watching T.V., today.

This one may be our favorite (that expression!). Also, there is no way that wheeling blocks toy contraption hasn’t sold out by now.

“We hope everyone enjoys these lovely photos as much as we do,” was the caption on the Kensington Royal Instagram account for this last one, and we are just going to believe Kate wrote that caption herself, before taking a long sip of green tea.
